Action Alert: Thank the Governor for Vetoing Partisan Elections Bill
On Tuesday, Gov. Hobbs vetoed SB1097 school districts; partisan elections, sponsored by Sen. Justine Wadsack.
ASBA opposed this bill on the basis that it would discourage school board candidates and make school board races more expensive and ultimately, more partisan and less about students. You can see a video clip of ASBA’s testimony on X (Twitter) here.
In her three-sentence veto letter, the governor shared the same sentiments, concluding with “Partisan politics do not belong in Arizona’s schools.”
If you have a moment, click here to send the governor an email thanking her for vetoing this legislation.
